Anakin Skywalker, also known as the “Chosen One” (the one who will put the force back into balance) is the father of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa/ Skywalker from the Star Wars films; he is also the husband of Padmé Amidala. Skywalker was a former slave on the planet Tatooine but at 9 years old he is discovered and trained by the Jedi, who sense his amazing abilities and strength in the force. Jedi Obi-wan Kenobi (Anakin’s master/ friend) takes Anakin as his apprentice (padawan) and trains him to become a strong Jedi Knight.  However, Anakin is later seduced to the “dark side” of the force and becomes the evil Darth Vader, lord of the Sith.
